The company is also changing the way convenient food is packaged. As the first Canadian meal subscription service to become a Certified B Corporation, Fresh Prep has made environmental responsibility an important part of its approach.
Its patented Zero Waste Kit™ replaces many disposable ingredient packages with reusable containers. After cooking, customers simply rinse the containers, return them in their reusable cooler bag with their next delivery and Fresh Prep takes care of the rest. The containers are professionally washed, sanitized and reused hundreds of times, helping reduce single-use plastic. Pre-portioned ingredients also help minimize unnecessary food waste.
