ALL DECKED
Like many of you , this past year has seen us spending more time at home and as a result , my wife ' s honey-do list seems to just keep getting longer and longer ! Her Pinterest account is now filled with projects she would like me to tackle . Back in the day , these lists were simple lines on a piece of paper but they have now taken on a life of their own with images , specific instructions and strict deadlines . Fortunately , more time at home means I have more time to tackle Mandy ' s list of dream projects !
As summer approaches , her attention has turned to our backyard . With two small , active children , it is safe to say we will spend a great deal of time in our backyard in the coming months , so creating a space that is fun and also provides a relaxing oasis is the goal . Our next project , I am told , is replacing our old deck .
I ' ve always loved spending time out on the deck and it has been many years since I have tackled a deck-building project . Perhaps it will be a family project and I ' ll get the kids involved to show them around a construction site . My dear wife also wants to try her hands at gardening again this year . Plants have a tendency to die on her but you know what they say , “ Third time ' s a charm !”
