Advice with

If you are looking to put your home on the
market, consider updating its décor to get
the best price. Your home may not warrant
an extreme makeover but a few tweaks will
go a long way in getting your asking price.
The first project you should tackle prior to
listing your property is to give it a fresh coat
of paint. You would be surprised at how
many potential buyers will walk through
your home and won’t be able to see past
that fire truck red dining room color. When
in doubt, choose something neutral and
current that will go with anyone’s décor.
If your home is in need of a little more than
a fresh coat of paint, invest in your kitchen
or bathrooms. You’ll get 100 percent of
your renovation investment back when
selling your home. Home Stagers and Real
Estate Agents will agree that these rooms
will also help sell your home faster.
Another area that you should pay close
attention to is the master bedroom.
Potential buyers need to visualize it as a
sanctuary and a master retreat. Take a close
look at the furniture in the bedroom and
ensure that it is to scale with the size of the
room. Less is more when it comes to staging
a bedroom therefore remove any clutter.
Keep it simple and elegant so that it appeals
to the masses.
Last but not least, invest in updating your
light fixtures from basic fixtures so that your
rooms have impact.
The real estate market is competitive
therefore put your best foot forward and
when in doubt, hire a professional. - Text by
