Recently widowed , the owner of this home came to Mojo Design Inc and Fortunat Contracting & Developments looking to give her home an updated look that would include features to help her age in place . The space was quite dark and dated . To bring in a more modern feel and natural light , a large steel beam was installed , allowing them to remove walls to create an open concept space for the kitchen , dining and family room . Being an older house , the project also required removing asbestos from the home . The finished home is open , bright and inviting with excellent flow from room to room .
