Hydrotherapy is gaining popularity in the field of canine rehabilitation , as it is an effective tool to help improve a dog ’ s mobility and fitness . When swimming , inherent properties of water , such as buoyancy , hydrostatic pressure and surface tension will allow dogs to get a full body workout in a low impact manner . However , swimming alone may not be enough to achieve the therapeutic goals required for a dog who has had a recent injury or surgery , and those who suffer from chronic pain conditions , such as osteoarthritis . The temperature of the water is important when considering hydrotherapy , as warm water ( between 28-32 degrees Celsius ) helps improve flexibility of muscles , decreases pain , and improves range of motion of the joints . Additionally , walking in water , such as in an underwater treadmill , will allow the dogs to use all four limbs in a way that is more similar to how they need to move on land .

7 Big Mistakes that is Keeping You Stuck with Arthritis and Chronic Pain
Trusting the health care system and insurance to help you get better . Both systems are designed to cover ONLY emergencies . Your arthritis and chronic pain are NOT considered an emergency . You need to take care of your own health .
Not believing that there are better ways to help your pain . Better and newer treatment options , like Prolo , Platelet-Rich- Plasma ( PRP ) and shock wave therapy are not covered . Trust that there are better options to treat your pain .
Being passive with your treatment plan and wait for a health care practitioner to tell you what to do . Always question and educate yourself about all possible treatment . Check your treatment options and then decide what is best for you .
Dabbling between therapies . Seeing different practitioners , medications , therapies and NOT sticking with one treatment plan till the end . Stick with one treatment plan and follow it till the end .
Commitment and consistency . It starts with couple of good habits to reduce your arthritis and chronic pain . You need to be disciplined to follow through .
Wanting to get better for free or for a cheap option . Looking for website articles , blogs , e-books , YouTube videos , hacks to get better will get you nowhere . Look for value not for price .
NOT investing in your health . North Americans spend over $ 12,000 on entertainment , travel and cosmetics per year . You will not enjoy entertainment or travel if you are in pain !!
