The inspiration for this bathroom came from the shower floor and wall tile . It coordinated well with the homeowner ’ s existing wood floor color but brought visual interest into the room . This became the jumping off point for creating a stunning bathroom that was warm , relaxing and contemporary throughout .
The existing bathroom was very small , outdated and offered only a single vanity . To create more space for the bathroom , the wall between the bathroom and primary bedroom was bumped out 3 ’ and another wall was removed between the bathroom and a small closet . This allowed plenty of space for a double vanity and a larger shower with a separate tub . Looking into the room from the bedroom , you can see the tub which had a unique decorative shape .
Designer Jacklynn Little was able to source a made-to-order vanity that fit the space perfectly . This is a more affordable option than a custom-made piece and allowed more budget for other areas , such as lighting ! The three mirrored sconces above the vanity add a touch of elegance to the space . It is important to make sure sconces are the correct scale for the space . If you have a double vanity , consider a size about 12-20 ” in height and about 4-5 ” wide . Make sure to place them on each side of the mirrors . Lights are often placed above the mirrors and should be placed on either sides of your face . Putting lights above casts a shadow and doesn ’ t give great light , especially for shaving and putting on makeup . - Jacklynn Little , Jacklynn Little Interiors , www . jacklynnlittleinteriors . com
