When styling a home or renovating a home , it ’ s a great idea to have feel of the surrounding area and bringing it inside the home . That was the intent with this house as it was just outside the city and we wanted to keep that modern farmhouse feel . It was important to give this open concept home a flow from room to room tying it all together . One piece of advice for making a house feel cohesive is by choosing 3-4 colors , sticking within that color palette throughout . Different ways to bring everything together is by adding rugs , pillows , decor items , art , wall colors , and furniture . The palette chosen for this home was wood , black and white while bringing in more neutral tones for the textile elements helping bring it all together . The kitchen kept its white tiled backsplash and part of the cabinets were kept white . The wooden elements were used in the island and open shelves to add texture and warmth . The same tiled backsplash and wood were used for the fireplace , the rug was also chosen for it ’ s brown tones to tie it all together . The flow and feel of the tiles and wood elements were brought into the bathroom with an added accent of black in the lighting , the bathroom vanity faucet and the floor mounted faucet for the beautiful soaker tub .
