The following young man’ s testimony is a powerful example of what God is doing in the hearts of many through our camp ministry.
“ Dear Bro. Capaci [ Camp Pastor ], I’ ve never been part of something more real, and I’ ve never seen God move like He did this week. A bunch of people got saved. Every night, there were dozens of people down at the altar crying out to God. When I say God moved, I mean it. It was so real and so clear, and I felt like a massive weight was lifted off my shoulders. I am overwhelmed with the most peace I’ ve ever had, and my whole perspective on life has changed. I’ ve prayed more than ever, and my walk with God has never been stronger. Not only could I see God moving in my own life, but I could see God moving in the lives of others. Just the attitude of the room proclaimed the name of Jesus. People were pouring out their souls to God, and it felt as though you could feel everybody’ s burdens, weights, fears, doubts, issues, etc., being lifted off their shoulders. There was a moment on Friday night, during the invitation, when my friend and I were praying together at the altar, and I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was the most gentle touch I have ever felt. I was overcome by a rush of warmth that echoed through me. I found out later that at the same time, my friend felt the exact same hand on his shoulder, too. The coolest part is that no one was behind us. I have a new outlook on life and a new outlook on the Bible. I got to sing and help lead worship with a singer by the name of Jay Boyce, who was there this week to lead worship. I sang like I’ ve never sung before, and I worshipped like I’ ve never worshipped before. Now I am excited to go to church, which felt like a burden before, but now I can’ t wait.”
Our Next Big Goal
Our next goal is to build a new dorm with large, open bunk areas to accommodate 100 additional students. This dorm will cost approximately $ 1 million and allow us to host 300 campers per event, matching the capacity of the new pavilion. As soon as God provides the funds, we will fill it with young people all summer long.
