Imagine waking up on Christmas
Day thinking you had won
£7million! Well.. this guy did! A
52 year old graphic designer
placed two bets guessing that 24
locations across Britain would
see snowfall on Christmas Day.
He thought he had hit the
jackpot when he woke up to find
that all 24 locations had seen
snowfall. Little did he know that
Ladbrokes rules say that
accumulators of this nature can’t
be placed on bets for a white
Christmas. He was told the
cashier shouldn’t have accepted
the bet and was therefore,
invalid. However, (generously..
or not..) Ladbrokes did pay out
the measly value of the bets
returning £31.78…

In the early 2000’s, a 32 year old
London man walked into a Las
Vegas casino with his life
savings, totalling $135,000. He
had previously liquidated all his
possessions, having decided to
put everything on red at a
Roulette table. After a
gut-wrenching spin, bobbling into
various slots, the ball landed on
Red 7, and the man doubled his
money instantly.
The money was paid in cash
and placed in a safe in the hotel,
and the management had him
sign the roulette felt which was
put on display in the lobby.
This is definitely not something
that we would advise on, but
unsuprisingly there is a fairly
amusing video of the winner’s
reaction as the ball fell on red.
