1 REPLAY A few of our favourite campaigns from the last month DEFENDER TO CONTENDER Manchester United and England legend Rio Ferdinand has teamed up with Betfair recently to take on a formidable challenge in attempting to gain a professional boxing license! This is not the first time that Betfair have tried to redefine sporting norms and encourage crossovers. In 2016 they worked with Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton in the switching saddles campaign. Betfair are consistently looking to innovate with their activations and their use of partnerships and this campaign is no different. Ferdinand indicates that he has the upmost respect for the sport of boxing and is taking this extremely seriously. Watch this space to see how the training is progressing. TAP INTO THE GAME Nike have teamed up with the NBA (National Basketball Association) to deliver the league’s first connected jersey dubbed ‘the most advanced yet’ and also a pre-game hooded top. NBA fans that purchase the jersey or top will be able to receive exclusive content such as match arrival footage, an exclusive highlights package and even delve into the players preferred warm up music playlists. To activate this content the clothing contains a chip that links directly to an app on your mobile phone, encouraging fans to download the NBA app and tap to receive the exclusive benefits. If you want to get your hands on one of these innovative jerseys, they were made a va i l a b l e o n l i n e f r o m F r i d a y 2 9 th September and will be available in all retailers until November. THE MANCHESTER KINGSMAN? To celebrate the release of the new K i n g s m a n : T h e G o l d e n C i r c l e m o v i e , 2 0 th Century Fox and Manchester United have teamed up to create some engaging launch content featuring a number of United Players. The short video features United superstars Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingard, David DeGea and Juan Mata discussing the much anticipated film, whilst also amusingly deciding which players from the squad are most similar to the various characters. th This is not the first time 20 Century fox have used their partnership with Manchester United to promote a new film. RED BULL SIGN ASTON MARTIN Red Bull continue to set the pace in sponsorship with a new commercial deal for their F1 team. The racing outfit has signed a new title and innovation sponsorship deal with their partners Aston Martin. This deal will see Aston Martin and Red Bull working together again in the pursuit of innovation. Designated advanced performance centres will be set up at the Red Bull campus with a focus on advancing Aston’s on road development. The centre is expected to create 110 new jobs, as well as housing Aston Martin’s design and engineering personnel responsible for future sports cars from the two companies. The partnership has already produced it’s first product - The recently announced Aston Martin Valkyrie, a road legal F1 car.
