3 SLICED A glance at what Healthcare brands are doing in sponsorship SWISSE – TEAM GB ABBOTT LABS – TITLE SPONSOR Swisse, the Australian multivitamin P&G brand, have made a swift entrance from across the pond with their sponsorship of Team GB, producing a TV spot on how nutrition is key to our preparation. Team GB seem to have backed up their claim by bringing home 27 Gold, 23 Silver, and 17 Bronze at Rio 2016, and smashing numerous records along the way! US healthcare company Abbott Labs were announced as the title sponsors for the World Marathon Majors in 2015, which will cover races in six cities across three continents next year. Included in the majors is the London Marathon, which saw over 39 thousand participants in 2016, and 250 thousand entries in the ballot for 2017. VITABIOTICS - AMBASSADOR LISTERINE - DIGITAL Vitabiotics, master-brand of wellman and wellwoman, have signed male supermodel, David Gandy, to join their already accomplished ambassador team. Gandy has used wellman vitamins for over a decade and swears by the supplements to maintain the high levels of energy needed for his busy lifestyle. Other Vitabiotics ambassadors include Mark Foster, James Anderson and Kirsty Gallagher. Mouthwash brands are generally not known for their creative output, however Listerine have proved us wrong. Last year, Listerine partnered with RNIB to create the Listerine Smile Detector which uses facial-recognition technology to help the blind and partially sighted know when someone is smiling at them. A touching, moving ad, and an innovative move for the brand. LUNGS FOR LIFE - EXPERENTIAL STOPTOBER - AMBASSADOR As part of one of the largest ever lung health campaigns, Healthy Lungs for Life are promoting the “breathe clean” campaign across the globe. Showing their support in the UK, the ELF, the British Lung Foundation, and Asthma UK all came together to offer free lung testing as well as advice in a pop-up “clean air bubble” at Canary Wharf in September. The NHS have made a big push this October to get people off cigarettes. They’ve partnered with celebrities like Chris “Kammy” Kamara and Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Horwood to deliver their iconic phrases and important information about the STOPTOBER campaign. The creation of a Facebook bot to give you instant advice is also helping promote the campaign.
