1 . Executive summary
Harpreet Kaur was commissioned by NAC ( Newhampton Arts Centre ) in August 2022 to evaluate the Whitmore Reans Remapped community arts project . The project aimed to achieve the following outcomes :
1 ) A network of local residents created that are actively involved in shaping the future programme of NAC and its community engagement activity .
2 ) Develop new ways that communities come together and improve the quality of where they live .
3 ) To have defined an additional and ambitious role NAC can play in the communities it serves as part of the city ’ s wider recovery .
The objectives of the evaluation were to assess ;
a ) Recruitment - the effectiveness of the recruitment process of participants ;
b ) Value - what the participants and artists valued about these activities ;
c ) Outcome - effectiveness of the creative process in capturing ideas and needs from the community to improve the quality of where they live ;
d ) Future - If NAC have succeeded in engaging with the community by collecting a range of ideas , some of which can be actioned .
