From general merchandise to specialty shops , shoppers can find a variety of offerings .
The city of Conway has expanded beyond the downtown confines , mostly on or near U . S . 501 , also known as Church Street .
Major retailers such as Walmart and other national brands coexist with local businesses on the western end of the city on Church Street .
Other shopping centers on the edge of the city , mainly on U . S . 501 or U . S . 701 include Food Lion Plaza , Waccamaw Square , Myrtle Ridge Shopping Center and Bay Village Shopping Center .
Heading toward Myrtle Beach on U . S . 501 , there are a variety of shopping venues large and small including Lowes Home Improvement , another Walmart and smaller shopping centers .
