We are always told that music is a universal language, and that sports bring people together.

Well I have my own theory about all that, and my theory is that all those things you say bring people together and are universal languages have one thing in common, a common denominator

(if I try to sound smart and mathematical), and that is food... and wine and gin and beer and cocktails and whiskey... you catch my drift!

We are talking about the 2017 Good Food & Wine Show, the Johannesburg leg of it to be more precise.

I have a question:

What do you get when you take the Ticketpro Dome, throw in delicious food, the best wine in the country, crisp gin, many different refreshing drinks, and a beautiful vibrant Jo'burg people?

Answer: Happy people

I just solved world peace!!!

On a serious note. The Good Food & Wine Show kicked off a bit slow on Friday morning (28 July), but it wasn't long before the Ticketpro Dome was buzzing with food & wine lovers. As the day went on it was clear that it was going to be an interesting weekend.

We had a chance to speak to some of the chefs who came to show us they can do in the kitchen, and those were some of the most interesting conversations we have ever had.

Lentswe Bhengu told us that his move from investment banking to being a chef was inspired his persuite of happiness.

That statement talks to a lot of people who have found courage to chase their dreams.

Sarah Graham started by writing a food blog and creating recipes and sharing them, and that is where her career as a cook started.

J Something told us that music and food have always been big passions of his, and that is why he found it easy to add being a chef to his already booming music career.

The few chefs/cooks we have quoted here show us that it all starts with a dream, and progresses to being a beuatiful reality, which I have to say, the reality of the Good Food & Wine Show proved to be mre than just about food, but seeing th elove of what people do pouring out with such happiness and passion. Seeing international chefs sharing their stories and love for food with their loyal fans, and showing them right there what they can do with simple food we see everyday, it went on to show how artistic being a chef/cook is.

My final comments on the Jo'burg leg of the 2017 Good Food & Wine Show are that it was a well put together show, and for those of us who love food and love cooking, reignited our love for food , and everything that comes with it. The 2017 Good Food & Wine Show, delivered!!!
