A bi-weekly ritual formed, every Sunday they’d enjoy music and talks bout God in real life, and in the middle of the week she’d join a group of peers to discuss things about their lives.
In this way we can see how these Christian rituals became synonymous to community, and a way of bringing people together to learn about God and follow his teachings. Although a lot of people are born into a specific culture and/or religion and stay in that, Lucy says, “I think people join these kinds of things because it helps to bring peace and tranquility into their lives.” She also mentions that this is a place where people from all walks of life and who may have gone through some very difficult times… “they find the help and redemption than can be brought only by religion.” However, is this feeling of contempt and belonging to a religion brought on by the religion itself or by the community following?
