The intense reaction first in China, then across the globe to contain the virus, has been unprecedented. The world is working together to contain the spread, to find a vaccine, and to mitigate fear. Our children will learn from how we react to this situation and replicate our behaviours. It is a time for all of us to demonstrate courage, wisdom, and compassion so that our future leaders will know what it looks like and be able to demonstrate courage, wisdom, and compassion themselves, even in very scary situations. In this issue, the focus is on developing children beyond being book smart. Dr. Travis Bradberry describes his eight ways to mold children into leaders, and David Emerald discusses the importance of parental engagement in education. Dr. Pornpun Waitayangkoon is an incredible woman who I met last year. She was the key person to pull together all the STEAM programs for Thailand. In this edition, we have a transcript of an interview I had with her while in Thailand last summer. Finally, for students to understand the significance of the United Nations Charter, UNACTO has described several of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that were set by the UN Charter to be achieved by 2030. I sincerely hope that you find this magazine helpful.
