Have you noticed? All the Saturdays of this month, it rained. All of the Mondays, there were no classes due to suspension and holidays. Half of August has been washed out. And since the rainy season has officially entered our area of responsibilities, taking it literally, a lot of Filipinos have been soaked up. It’s true that when it rains, it pours. And then it floods, and then we still manage to laugh! That’s what we are… most of the time we just laugh everything off!

And this second article of mine would be dealing about that. The positive relationship of every Filipino during flood, showing how being optimistic and hilarious we are even in the toughest times, living up to our slogan, “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” (flood edition).

WATERPROOF SPIRIT. That’s innate in us. It amazes me to see how each one of us deal in this condition in the most positive way we can. Those smiles and laughter define how strong our relationships to each other are. These pictures speaking out to me that, “Hoy! Bagyo ka lang, Pilipino kami!”. It makes me prouder to be one true-blooded Filipino!

On the top of it, I realized that what I truly love about the rain isn’t just the soft wind’s coldness that lingers in my skin, not just the cozy feeling that makes me roll in my bed endlessly, and certainly not just the suspensions of class that benefits me a lot…. Now I realized that it’s the thought of “There’s a rainbow always after the rain”… or should I say, on the Filipino perspective, “There’s a rainbow even during the rain.”
