INTERVIEW WITH ANGEL FREE NOLAND ARARACAP What is your involvement with Social Media? I provide monthly social media training videos to the people that are receiving my newsletter. But, mainly I sit down with an owner of a business to develop a strategic social media plan that they can implement in their business. I start by looking at the overall process of their business. For example, how are they getting new customers/clients, what are they doing once they get a new customer/client, and what are they doing to receive referrals. Why do you think it’s important for real estate investors to use Social Media in their business? If you’re not using social media as part of your business, then you are really limiting the ability of your business to grow and take off. Social Media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Website blogs are a huge opportunity for real estate investors because of the social nature of the sites, and are becoming so important for lead generation and for promoting your brand. They allow an investor to establish themselves as the authority and be known as a credible source in their market or niche. Sites like LinkedIn allow you to network with other real estate investors to discover investment opportunities or to maybe partner with them. Social Media also allows you to have a presence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It also allows you to build a following and to engage with your audience to find out what’s important to them. If you listen to your audience and find out what they need help with, you can be the one that provides the solution to their problem. For example, if you’re a wholesaler, and buyers are looking for certain types of homes in certain areas, you can be the one to provide them these homes. Or, when someone is moving they want to tell everyone and one of the first places they are going to tell people is on one of the social media sites.
