in Its Tracks!

ou're intimately connected to the world around you. Your external environment affects your state of
awareness, and your state of awareness affects the people and circumstances surrounding your life.
By being aware of how you're affected by external forces in your life, you can consciously reject
stimulus that is not consistent with how you want to be thinking, feeling or behaving.
Identify those people, places and situations that have a negative effect on you, and take steps to minimize or
remove their effects by not supporting the conversations or activities that feed those negative responses.
When you are in situations where you can feel the negative effect of the association, being aware of that
negative effect can keep you from being affected. You are on guard not to be affected to the degree that you
are conscious of the negative influence and are cognizant of not wanting to get affected.
