In my estimation, building wealth with real estate is a function of controlling a large asset base for a long time, which necessitates being a landlord. It seems that I hearstories of people burning-out on landlording every day of my life – I buy buildings from some of them. In the final analysis, while our tenant qualifying process and management style most definitely impact our ability to succeed in this business, by far the culprit most responsible for management issues is the building itself!
