TOP 5 SAFETY TIPS FOR BEING IN THE ATM BUSINESS CAREY BUCK 1. Common Sense if there is a business that is located in a war zone and they tell you that they want an ATM....say no. Let someone else put their ATM there The very first safety tip that I have for you is to use common sense. I know that sounds like a silly thing to say but using common sense will keep you safe. What do I mean when I say use common sense? For example, if there is a business that is located in a war zone and they tell you that they want an ATM....say no. Let someone else put their ATM there. That’s using common sense. Don’t put yourself in a dangerous area to make a buck (or lots of bucks even!) By the way, common sense may be the only safety tip you need. You will probably find that the remainder of these safety tips are, in fact, common sense. 2. Stay Away At Busy Times Schedule your ATM fills during non-busy times for the businesses that you placed them. For example, let’s say that you have your ATM in a restaurant. Ideally, you should NOT fill that ATM during the lunch or dinner rush. For obvious reasons, there are more people there. 3. Take Someone With You Don’t go by yourself to fill your ATMs. Always take an extra person with you. When you have an extra person with you they can be “security” or your lookout, if you will, as you load the ATM with cash. Now, I won’t tell you that I always have someone with me, but I think it’s a top notch safety tip to always fill your ATM with someone. If you have to fill an ATM one day by yourself, then all of the other ATM safety tips become much more important. 4. Get An Insurance Policy This safety tip isn’t really so much for your personal safety, but more so for the safety of your pocket book.
