COLUMBUS CHORUS, COLUMBUS , OHIO The Columbus Chorus proudly revealed their new teal summer costumes at the Park of Roses in Columbus, Ohio. This venue is an annual performance for the chorus and, despite the humid weather, the chorus presented a toe-tapping performance for the outdoor crowd. One of the chorus’ favorite songs to perform is the Armed Forces Medley. Chorus members really enjoy showing their appreciation for audience members who have served our country so well. Featured in the photo is one of our newer quartets, “Encore”. The rest of the summer months will be filled with a variety of performances including fairs, floral shows, and nursing homes. We are excited that an influx of new members is enriching our sound as we also use these weeks to learn the exciting songs our director, Kathy Larkins, and our music team have chosen for our fall show. On October 13, 2013, the Columbus Chorus will be presenting their annual show. This year the theme is: Far Out in Four Parts: A 60’s Show. The chorus is busy learning many “baby boomer” favorites for this show. Songs from the Beatles, John Denver, Paul Simon, and Billy Joel are among the composers on the performance list. Since a number of the women in the chorus grew up with these songs, the tunes are fun and take on a whole new dimension when arranged in barbershop style!
