THE STORMS OF LIFE
What do you do when the storms of life hit ? Do you try to hold on tight , stand firm and hope for the best ?
When Jesus was with His disciples in a boat on the Sea of Galilee , a great storm blew in . The disciples panicked and went to wake up Jesus . “ And they woke him and said to him , ‘ Teacher , do you not care that we are perishing ?’ And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea , ‘ Peace ! Be still !’ And the wind ceased , and there was a great calm . He said to them , ‘ Why are you so afraid ? Have you still no faith ?’” ( Mark 4:38-40 )
Although Jesus was in the boat with them , the disciples were afraid because they did not have their faith in the One who could save them . What about you ? What are you trusting in to save you — status , possessions , relationships , career , yourself ? Like the winds of change , the things of this world can be here one day and gone the next .
Jesus is with you and able to save you and satisfy your greatest need — your need for a Savior .
According to Romans 6:23 , “ For the wages of sin is death , but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord .” Although we are all sinners ( Romans 3:23 ) and cannot save ourselves from the consequence of sin , there is hope . God has offered you a gift of eternal life through Jesus . Romans 5:8 says , “ But God demonstrates His own love toward us , in that while we were still sinners , Christ died for us .” Jesus , who is without sin , paid the price for your sins through His death on the cross and won the victory over death when He rose again the third day . Therefore , it is only through Him that you can be saved .
John 3:16 says , “ For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son , that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life .” Will you now take God at His word and accept Jesus as your Savior from sin ?

Dear God , I know that I am a sinner . Thank you for sending your perfect Son to die in my place . I know that it is only through His sacrificial death on the cross and resurrection from the dead that I am able to have a new life in You . Thank you for saving me . In Jesus ’ name , Amen
