BATHROOMS & KITCHENS Maxtop launches next generation of its one-of-a-kind worktops Unique modular quartz surface specialist, Maxtop Quartz, has revealed the next generation of its one-of-a-kind worktops, complete with a seamless finish, stylish 1.5mm bevelled edge and now including marble-effect finishes. Yet, unlike heavy solid stone alternatives, the unique interior makes it much simpler to handle and install, reducing characteristics typically associated with solid surfaces, such as time, cost and order/installation time. Over the last 12 months the company has invested £2m into building a purpose- built factory in China to manufacture the new product, which is being hailed an ‘extraordinary engineering feat’ by those in the industry. Stephen Moss, managing director of Maxtop Quartz Ltd, comments: “Maxtop Quartz has always been a unique proposition in the surface market and we’ve been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to develop the product to make it the best it can possibly be. Historically, each Maxtop surface required four separate pieces of quartz edge to be assembled around the patented honeycomb interior to create the worktop. Now, thanks to the company’s significant investment in R&D, the new generation of product utilises just one solid piece of quartz to encase the lightweight centre, streamlining the manufacturing process and guaranteeing a seamless look and finish. “We’ve also revised our décors after much careful consideration and are confident that we have a shade for all kitchen styles. The range now includes a selection of timeless black, white and grey finishes, but has also seen the introduction of two marble-effect décors; Alba and Tundra which we’re expecting to be very popular.” The 1.5mm bevelled edge is a subtle yet effective alteration, half the depth it was on the original Maxtop surfaces. Boasting ten finishes in total, all Maxtop décors are available for immediate sale and installation and at a set price, regardless of the décor. As before, all Maxtop Quartz surfaces are 40mm thick and made from solid quartz. A growing issue for specifiers in the public sector is the need for carers to lift and help the one they care for transfer, particularly with Health & Safety guidelines and an increasingly obese population: thus the need for a ceiling track hoist. The need arises in domestic, residential care and away from home/ public environments- particularly, with the last, with the provision of an assisted accessible toilet aka a Changing Places or Space to Change toilet. But often, structural considerations obviate the ability to attach the hoist track to the ceiling, or fix to walls. Closomat has the ability to supply and install a full room or room-room hoist system that can be supported on discreet yet robust stanchions. Thus ceiling and wall obstructions and/or load limitations can be overcome. Replacement Seats Closomat’s range of track hoist solutions can accommodate a 200kg/31st lift, and can descend as low as required- even allowing pick- up from the floor.
