Refurbishment and Restore Issue 15 2019 | Page 41

Elsewhere in the design, a new staircase was inserted to improve the circulation to spaces on different levels and an existing bathroom was remodelled to provide a large family bathroom. At first floor a new contemporary style external sliding doors replaced the dated existing in the Master Bedroom and a glass balustrade on the terrace replaced the existing wrought iron railings. The minor adjustments to the façade, as well as the larger structural interventions served to upgrade the house both internally and externally. They also served to preserve this Victorian house for generations to come by rearranging spaces to suit modern family living. www.refurbandrestore.co.uk - 41
