THE PREPARATION GROUP Heritage Projects
When it comes to heritage restoration, every detail matters. Preserving the authenticity of an historical building requires not only skilled craftsmanship but also the right equipment. At The Preparation Group, we understand that the tools we use are just as important as the expertise of our team. Whether it’ s a delicate removal of old materials or ensuring that new ones integrate seamlessly, selecting the right equipment is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the structure and its original design.
Restoring a heritage site often involves working with materials that are no longer in common use. Using specialized equipment ensures that these materials are handled carefully, preventing any damage or degradation to the building. Our advanced tools allow for precise work that respects both the history of the site and the need for modern safety standards.
Efficiency is also key in heritage restoration. With the right tools, we can streamline the process, reducing both time and labour costs while achieving high-quality results. For instance, when we were tasked with restoring a porch area that had suffered water damage from a failed waterproofing system, our team employed a range of electric-powered surface preparation tools to remove the old materials safely and efficiently. Initially the waterproof system was uplifted using a self-propelled walk behind multistripper which left behind residue of the system on the substrate. The next step in the process was the use of the PPC250 Grinder, paired with the PPCM450 Longopac Industrial Vacuum. This step ensured the surface was clean and smooth, ready for a new waterproof membrane, while hand grinders provided the perfect finish for edge details.
Above all, our focus is on sustainability and safety. We work with equipment designed to reduce waste, minimize environmental impact, and ensure a safe working environment. Heritage restoration is about more than just repairs— it’ s about honouring the past while ensuring that these treasures stand the test of time.
At The Preparation Group contracting team, we combine the right tools, expert knowledge, and a dedication to quality to make sure every restoration project is carried out to the highest standard.
