Originally built in 1938, the home had previously belonged to a developer who rented out the home and covered up the home’ s original elements. Known for their thoughtful approach to restoring homes, Principals Amanda Leigh and Taylor Hahn wanted to salvage the home’ s unique 1930s characteristics while adding modern touches. They sourced vintage brick from Facebook Marketplace for the home’ s exterior, giving the facade a lived-in feel with a range of bricks from different structures. Amanda and Taylor added a contemporary vibe to the exterior through the black roof and outdoor columns, creating a thoughtful juxtaposition of modern and vintage. Amanda and Taylor continued the vintage brick in the backyard and pool area, adding a sense of warmth to the spaces. They salvaged beautiful stained glass from the kitchen and moved it into the dining room, and kept the original delft tiles in the fireplace, while incorporating it into a modern aesthetic. The design features luxurious materials, organic shapes, lots of natural light, and a moody color palette with deep maroons and subdued navy that adds sophisticated style while still feeling timeless.
