CROGIOLO LUME MARAZZI
CROGIOLO LUME MARAZZI
Marazzi ’ s most recent research into industrial craftsmanship has led to a rediscovery of the beauty of authentic , colourful , decorated ceramics in collections with a handmade look , created by combining craftsmanship with industrial technology . Crogiolo presents a unique level of quality and aesthetics , reflecting Marazzi ’ s unceasing research and technological innovation , combined with a return to what it is to be human , and the care and attention typical of craftsmanship . These materials lend vibrancy and a warm , welcoming mood to a space , beyond passing fashions and time . The name Crogiolo is central to the history of Marazzi , since it is the name of the industrial building
where Marazzi was first established in the 1930s , between the railway tracks and the Modena canal , and the place where , in the 1980s , “ Il Crogiolo ”, Marazzi ’ s research and experimentation hub , was founded . It was there that architects , designers , artists and photographers were invited to interpret the artistic potential of ceramics with complete freedom , leading to a fertile season of pure research resulting in the Marazzi “ Sperimentazioni ” series , designer tiles by Roger Capron , Amleto Dalla Costa ,
Original Designers , Saruka Nagasawa and Robert Gligorov , with photographs by Luigi Ghirri , Cuchi White and Charles Traub .
