THE EARNSCLIFFE HOUSE
Complete renovation of a house . Architects : Le Borgne Rizk Architecture
A delicate transformation of a duplex into a single-family home , by Le Borgne Rizk Architecture . It is a metamorphosis that transcends space , creating open places bathed in light , soothing retreats where beauty inspires familial harmonies . Intended to house an intergenerational family of two children and a grandparent , this dwelling celebrates the cohabitation of generations .
On the ground floor , communal spaces intertwine around a vast functional kitchen , gracefully opening to the dining room and family room . A dedicated workspace emerges , weaving a tapestry between professional and family life . Upstairs , two bathrooms surround the four bedrooms , each articulating around a double height in front of the staircase . This staircase , both robust and refined , becomes a junction between functionality and aesthetics , a living tableau .
Elegantly suspended on the wall , this wooden staircase reveals concealed drawers , integrating daily life into its organized movement . The chocolate-toned wooden steps offer subtle warmth to this open space , while the wall-mounted metal structure , discreetly concealed behind a triangular glass partition , welcomes the dance of natural light . The glass guardrail , crowned with wood , provides translucent security , illuminated by a soft glow under each step .
