Studio Olgoj Chorchoj is located in Prague on Liben Island in a listed studio built in 1930 originally for sculptor Jan Lauda .
It was founded in 1990 by Michal Fronek and Jan Nemeccek while they were still studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague . The studio ’ s scope of work ranges from glass , lighting , jewellery , industrial design , furniture , and urban furniture design to interior design , architecture , and urban planning . Over the years , it has been awarded numerous domestic and foreign accolades . Their works are represented in private collections and prominent museums such as the National Gallery , the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague , the Moravian Gallery in Brno , the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York , and the Corning Museum of Glass , among others . Their work is published in both regional and international professional journals and special publications .
In architecture , the studio primarily focuses on new buildings and reconstructions of family villas , revitalisation of historical buildings , and design of interiors and exhibitions . Over the years , the studio has collaborated with many architects such as Daniel Paterko , Ondrej Kopecný , Jan Rosický , Štepán Abt , Juraj Smolen , Tereza Kenížová , Jan Šrámek , Katerina Hroncová , Martin Klanica , Jan Krejcí , Mariana Hanková , Lucie Englová , The Hong Nhung , and others .
Since 2000 , Michal Fronek and Jan Nemecek have been leading the Product Design Studio at the Academy of Arts , Architecture and Design in Prague .
