Humphries Last year, Bob offered to match all gifts to the 1999-2000 Annual Fund from alumni who had not supported the Annual Fund in the previous year. In addition, he challenged any graduate who supported the 1998-99 Annual Fund to increase his or her gift for 1999-2000, and promised to match every increase. Our alumni took Bob seriously. Here are the results: Tracy Church Belinda Joyce Bunting That’s right. Bob’s challenge to our alumni ended up costing him almost $49,000—and he is delighted. “Our whole goal was to encourage more alumni to step up to the plate and support the University, and that’s just what happened,” Bob said. “I’m very pleased that so many Siena Heights alumni responded.” Carolynn Ellis Lisa Lauber Jorgensen Martin Robert Holtz Lan Thi Hong Nguyen Frank J. Hribar Robin Grubbs Oetgen • A total of 508 alumni became donors to the Annual Fund who had not contributed the previous year. Their gifts totaled $30,560.98. • Another 288 alumni increased their gifts, contributing a total of $49,998.62, an increase of $18,313.82 over their Annual Fund support in 1998-99. Kemp Candyce Webb Wilson Siena Heights can take pride in having received Annual Fund gifts from 1,363 alumni, an increase of 27% over the previous year’s 1,073 alumni donors to the Annual Fund. Alumni giving to the Annual Fund accounted for $158,222, a whopping 43% increase over the $110,374 contributed by alumni to the 1998-99 Annual Fund.
