marriage and/or relationship loss. She
holds an MSW from the University of
Michigan and is a Siena Heights trustee.
Jodie Screes, OP ‘53 introduced Tarianne
as a passionate leader who is unafraid of
risks. “The influence of the Adrian
Dominican Sisters on Tarianne has been
great,” Jodie said. “She has always been
surrounded by women who are unafraid.”
Tarianne expressed similar sentiments,
saying the Adrian Dominicans “have
surrounded me with love and support.
They always said ‘you can’ when I
thought maybe I couldn’t.”
“Sister Ann Joachim never colored inside
the lines,” Tarianne recalled. “At
Dominican High School, we are
reinventing a community that is focused
on the education of young women who
will be inspired to give back and make a
difference. I want these young women to
have what Sister Ann Joachim had: a
sense of themselves as strong and able
leaders.”
Jean Agnes Klemm, OP ‘44 of Adrian
received the Alumni Association’s Saint
Dominic Award. Jean Agnes was
honored for lifelong dedication to
education, including 22 years of energetic teaching and innovative program
development with the Siena Heights art
department. She developed and established Siena’s programs in photography
and fibers, was involved in Siena’s
successful application for membership
