A Message of Thanks
From the Board of Trustees
n behalf of the Siena Heights College Board of Trustees,
it is my honor to express appreciation to all who
supported the College during 1996-97. To our faculty and
staff who give so much of themselves, beyond their daily
tasks, in talent, knowledge, and dedication, we thank you
for providing a quality education to the students we serve.
To our students who are working hard to earn their degrees
and to their families who are stretching their finances to
support these efforts, we encourage your commitment. To
our alumni whose leadership and contributions in their
various careers and communities bring honor to the
College, we send our sincere congratulations. To all the
businesses, organizations, foundations and individuals who
so generously support our mission, we extend our heartfelt
gratitude for believing in Siena Heights College.
O
Through your gifts, the College realized many
accomplishments. First, we are pleased to have met, and
slightly exceeded, the 1996-97
Annual Fund goal. Secondly, we
Gifts & Giving
have been blessed with significant
gifts to increase our endowment
1996-97
fund. The Herrick Foundation
completed its $1,000,000 gift to
endow the Sister Cathleen Real
Scholarship Fund. The Sage
Foundation finalized its endowed
professorship in child drama and its endowed scholarship
in honor of Margaret J. Mudgett. These gifts are
particularly important because they support scholarship
and academic programming in perpetuity!

While building our endowment, we have been able to
attend to physical plant improvements through restricted
contributions for that purpose. External building repairs,
internal renovations, and equipment purchases have
improved not only the appearance of our campus but also
the quality of teaching and learning. Such improvements
reflect President Artmans pursuit of an educational
environment which is safe, attractive and productive.
The College enjoys broad-based financial support from
alumni, corporations, foundations, parents and friends of
the College. Such support represents a true partnership
and confirms our sense of community. I speak for all
Board of Trustee members when I say we are proud to
belong to the Siena family.
Gratefully,
John Tierney
Chairperson of the Board

The New Siena Heights College Annual Fund
Many changes have occurred in Sienas Annual Fund
Program. In the recent past, the Annual Fund offered only
three levels of giving recognition. We now have five
giving levels, as well as a special lifetime giving society.
We hope these new benchmarks will allow donors to find
the level of gift support with which they are most
comfortable. We also have established specific benefits
for each gift level. These benefits are a way to bring you,
the donor, closer to Siena Heights and to bring Siena
Heights closer to you.
