Fear
One who takes shelter of the
Supreme Lord has nothing to fear,
even in the midst of the
greatest calamity.
- BG 1:19, purport -
For a sannyäsé, the first qualification should be fearlessness. Because
a sannyäsé has to be alone without any support or guarantee of sup-
port, he has simply to depend on the mercy of the Supreme Person-
ality of Godhead. If one thinks, “After I leave my connections, who
will protect me?” he should not accept the renounced order of life.
- BG 16:1-3, purport -
Fear is caused by our absorption in the illusory energy. But those
who are free from the illusory energy, those who are confident that
they are not the material body, that they are spiritual parts of the
Supreme Personality of Godhead, and who are therefore engaged in
the transcendental service of the Supreme Godhead, have nothing
to fear. - BG 10:4-5, purport -
