Equanimity (Cont’d)
One who is not disturbed in mind even
amidst the threefold miseries or elated when
there is happiness, and who is free from
attachment, fear and anger, is
called a sage of steady mind.

He for whom no one is put into difficulty and who is not disturbed
by anyone, who is equipoised in happiness and distress, fear and
anxiety, is very dear to Me. - BG 12:15 -
A person is considered still further advanced when he regards
honest well-wishers, affectionate benefactors, the neutral, media-
tors, the envious, friends and enemies, the pious and the sinners
all with an equal mind. - BG 6:9 -
Samatä, equanimity, refers to freedom from attachment and
aversion. To be very much attached or to be very much detached
is not the best. This material world should be accepted without
