Those who reach it never return to this material world. - BG 15:6 - From the mode of goodness, real knowledge develops; from the mode of passion, greed develops; and from the mode of ignorance develop foolishness, madness and illusion. - BG 14:17 - Material nature consists of the three modes—goodness, passion and ignorance. When the living entity comes in contact with nature, he becomes conditioned by these modes. - BG 14:5 - O son of Bharata, the mode of goodness conditions one to hap- piness; passion conditions one to fruitive action; and ignorance, covering one’s knowledge, binds one to madness. - BG 14:9 - The result of pious action is pure and is said to be in the mode of goodness.
