If one is fortunate enough to take shelter of a pure devotee, hear from him about self-realization and follow in his footsteps, one will be gradually elevated to the position of a pure devotee. - BG 13:26, purport - Academic knowledge, scholarship, high position, etc., are all useless in solving the problems of life; help can be given only by a spiritual master like Krishna. - BG 2:8, purport - Without being a representative of Krishna, one cannot become a teacher or spiritual master of transcendental subject matter. - BG 11:43, purport - One can know God and one’s relationship with God only when one actually meets a representative of God.
