Reflections for the Soul: Pearls of Vedic Wisdom Reflections for the Soul: Pearls of Vedic Wisdom | Page 11
To this end, the Supreme Lord spoke the Bhagavad-Gétä or the
Beautiful Song of God and enlightened Arjuna as to the actual
purpose of human life. Arjuna then took up his bow and fought,
with the full understanding that he was nothing but an instru-
ment in the service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord
Krishna.
Based on the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad-Gétä, this
compedium titled Reflections for the Soul sheds the transcen-
dental light of Vedic wisdom in dispelling the path of ignorant
materialistic living and thus illuminating the proven path of self-
realization and enlightenment. From conquering the dictations of
lust, anger and greed – described as the three gates to hell – to the
different types of charity, foodstuffs, knowledge and renunciation
that exist, and even to describing the different paths of yoga, the
Bhagavad-Gétä has it all, and is availed to all, regardless of caste,
creed, language, race or religion.
One just needs to dive deep down into the ocean of Vedic
wisdom, and carefully collect the pearls therein, deliberate fully on
their meanings and apply the teachings in one’s own life to truly
experience the results. As Arjuna came out victorious, so can we
and thus achieve peace and happiness in our lives. Oà Tat Sat.
