He has to devise so many plans and schemes to acquire enough money to maintain his status quo. This is all miserable. - BG 14:17, purport - O chief of the Bhäratas, when there is an increase in the mode of passion the symptoms of great attachment, fruitive activity, in- tense endeavor, and uncontrollable desire and hankering develop. - BG 14:12 - A man in the mode of passion may be engaged in fruitive activity; he owns as much as he can and spends for good causes.
