For all of us, 2020 has been a challenging and unusual year. I recall friends exclaiming, Bring on 2020! at the start of January 2020, and 2020 did indeed bring it on. This year is going to end in a way that no one could have predicted. We may have discovered new facets of ourselves or old vulnerabilities as a result of the unusual circumstances of the year, which we thought had been resolved long ago. The year helped to shed light on our lives, revealing what we rely on, what makes us resilient, and what we value most. For the first time, the year 2020 may have forced us to question long-held assumptions.
This year's theme also emphasized the importance of showing ourselves and others compassion. When we haven't yet accomplished our objectives due to unforeseen circumstances, we may gain a new understanding of what is within and beyond our control and find peace with it.
