When the pandemic started, i didn’t really know what was going on and what was going to happen. I didn’t think it was a big thing at first but then if we were sick we weren’t allowed to go to school, and then it ended up us going online for 2 weeks. None of us knew how to use zoom, or how to use some of the websites. During those 2 weeks, we got a lot information about what was going on and what was going to happen. After those two weeks, the cases ended up getting worse and we never went back to school. At that point, it became stressful because we got a lot of homework. Doing tests online, was quite hard especially math because we had to solve the questions. At the end of the year when we had the zoom on the last day, it felt weird because we weren’t at school, and seeing everyone on zoom is so much different then seeing them in person. Quarantine was very boring, because we couldn’t go out and I couldn’t see my friends. A few weeks after school ended, the cases finally started becoming low, and we had 0 active cases for more than a month.

Before school started in September, we didn’t know if we were going back to school or not. We found out that we were going, and i was so excited and happy to finally see my friends again after not seeing them for 7 months. The first few months after September was good, it felt weird being at school after not being there for 7 months. The restrictions were very annoying at first, because I couldn’t hug my friends, we had to do social distancing and wearing masks. Wearing masks was really hard because the weather was quite hot in September. Around February, we got more restrictions in school and we started getting some cases in high school. In the middle of March, we got 500 active cases and the government started giving more restrictions. They announced that the schools were going to close for 2 weeks till April 12. We went online again, and it wasn’t that stressful. It was much calmer than the year before. At the end of the 2 weeks, we had easter holidays and the cases started calming down. On April 15, we went back to school and it felt like we never went online. We had to go to school last because grade 6 and grade 7 went before us. We went on a Friday and it was a short day.
