So I was going to school normally at around January 2020, when I heard about Covid-19. It was an outbreak in Wuhan, China, and there were a few cases there. Me and by friends kind of joked about it, made memes about it. It wasn’t going to reach Malta, said everyone. It wasn’t super serious. Around this time, I looked at Covid trackers. I noticed that South Korea reached 40 cases from 33 the previous day, Italy had reached 27 from 18 the previous day, and Iran had gone up to 57 from 39 the previous day. This was weird, how were some countries beginning to have outbreaks? The cases in these countries went up and other countries also started to have a lot of cases. And then BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Pandemic. Countries started to get 10,000 cases, then 100,000, then 1,000,000. The cases went up and with them the deaths. The US, fared the worst however. I saw their cases go up all the way to 1,000,000 then 3,000,000 then 5,000,000 then 10,000,000 and their deaths reached all the way up to nearly 600k today and more than 30,000,000 cases recorded in the US. Right now, Vaccines are out and now things look much better. But new Outbreaks in India, Brazil and many poorer countries look grim and show that this isn’t over just yet. Now the world has 160,000,000 cases and 3,320,000 deaths. However, nearly 140,000,000 people have recovered from Covid-19. Hopefully, a more united world will beat this virus for once and for all.
