Why I returned to education
By Waynne Keogh
I want to be able to get a good job and earn a decent wage. It will
also improve my standard of life.
I want to improve my reading, so I will be able to read anything that
I want and to be able to understand all the words that I read.
I also returned to meet different people and to learn from them
about their lives and how they see the world.
It would be great to get some qualifications that will allow me to gain
more confidence in my ability to do whatever I want.
It is very important to me to get off the dole and to be able to hold
my head high and to have pride in myself again.
I want to improve my maths, so that I can keep a better eye on my
bills and to be able to budget my finances better.
I want to be able to speak to people with confidence and on an equal
level – to be able to do that is a must for me.
