Research into the use of this system led to a greater understanding of teacher workflow when supervising and assessing a pre service teacher. Supervising teachers in the original system had to identify the learning outcome before being able to record a video. This was found to be a hindrance to effective feedback so CeMeE now has instant access to video and an onscreen library for the supervisor to drag and drop these videos to learning outcomes that are relevant after the video is collected. The screen shot above shows an area for resources to be housed for the pre service teacher and the supervising teacher. While practical there was little interaction with these documents and CeMeE allows for a supervisor to annotate any pre service teacher's document and drag and drop this next to a learning outcome for the pre service teacher to reflect on when convenient. CeMeE allows for video capture, image capture and document collection to occur within the classroom or work environment with minimal impact on teaching time. The screen capture shows the system's capacity to allow a supervising teacher to have multiple pre service teachers. Preservice teacher feedback is represented at the bottom of the screen with their initials. Local and server sections, in the bottom right, are libraries for video and documents or artefacts. The system makes the use of these artefacts further by allowing forward planning and feedback to be developed in the moment or at a time that suits the supervising or pre-service teacher. The supervising teacher can collect the video, make comments and assign learning outcomes at a more convenient time; in conjunction with this the pre service teacher can invite others to do the same for them. The pre-service teacher can see both sets of feedback while the supervising teacher will only ever see their own feedback and the invited pre-service teacher will only see the feedback they provided. Reporting of data was also identified as critical to the reflective process. The Preservice Teacher Tracker system produced a simple line graph showing the progress of star ratings over time for each learning outcome. The PDF was exportable for emailing or printing but discussion with practitioners showed that they already had large numbers of emails so online reports accessible after one log in were developed into a dashboard for the user on log in. An example of the dashboard can be seen here. CeMeE what does it do? The system promotes reflective, collaborative conversations about specific learning outcomes. It has two great strengths; firstly its simplicity and ability to allow a person to give feedback to another person without having to spend large amounts of time receiving professional development on the platform, and secondly, the supervising teacher does not have to spend an inordinate of time typing up and entering data on their pre service teacher. Central to this is the platform's focus on reflective practice. CeMeE does not try to be a ‘one size fits all’ assessment solution. It is designed to capture and assesses the skills and knowledge a pre-service teacher may demonstrate in a workplace environment.
