Winter Winners
The big swells that frequent the
Quobba coast throughout the winter
months can also make it reasonably
difficult to land a good fish. When
fishing from these high cliffs it is
important to have a decent rope gaff
to extract your catch from ledges like
Hell’s Gate, South Wall and North
Wall. A good quality 3 piece pole
gaff is also recommended and can be
used on some of the lower ledges like
North Two Mile.
The Quobba coastline is a real pelagic
superhighway where big Spaniards,
cobia, longtail tuna and the odd Indo-
Pacific sailfish can all be captured
from the shore. If you haven’t made
the pilgrimage to this wild and remote
coastline it’s definitely worth a look.
