The Do's and Don'ts of

Valentine's Day

~Olivia J. Jones

Don’t

....go on a double date with your friend if you’re still trying to get to know the person you’re going out with. It takes away from the intimacy of the date and it also shows your date that you don’t trust your judgment and have a need to seek approval from others.

....take your date to the place you took your girlfriend last year. It’s not only tacky but it’s lazy. Show her enough respect and Google or ask around for suggestions on how to get creative. Don’t recycle gifts, that’s just plan ole wack.

....send your date off at the last minute to go out with someone else that called you last minute. This only sets you up for a very bad ending.

Do

....be on time. Nothing shows respect better than respecting a person’s time.

Ladies, that means prep yourselves the night before to insure your on schedule rather than making him wait hours for you to get dressed.

....give out complements. Be a gentleman to your date, open and close doors, pull out chairs. Show her that you care.

....take your date someplace that you’re sure he or she will enjoy rather than be uncomfortable. Give them a gift that will represent you as a person and how you feel for them.
