The birthday party for one of
South Africa’s biggest millionaires
happened two days after the
Queen Mary 2 dinner in the Rear
Courtyard at The Castle of
Goodhope. It was quite a dramatic
transformation from an opulent
dinner to an amazing birthday
bash! Firstly two Bedouin tents
had to been brought in to extend
the clear span marquee to
accommodate the 500 guests;
three fully stock bars and portable
restrooms to fit the queen!
The guests were entertained by
CODA, an electric string trio with a
vocalist, on the DeKat Balcony in
the Front Courtyard. The theme
was a satire from the movie 007,
which was ‘Barely Bond’. In the
tunnel were heavy draped
curtains which revealed the Rear
Courtyard in all its glory!! And
were the guests in awe? Two
Aston Martin’s paved the way to
the marquee…in the middle of the
marquee was a black and white
checker dance floor and décor
was inspired by the places he had
travelled which added personal
touches. Next to the dance floor
was the buffet maze where people
walk around and through the food
stations. The highlight of the
evening was the private
performance by Prime Circle!
