est of your children. Being a mom is knowing that your child will get a scratch on their knee and then come running to you so that you can kiss it better. A kiss can heal anything from a scraped knee to a split on the head that you well know is going to require stitches, but you kiss it anyway and then take to the doctor. Being mom means staying up all night with a sick child and still making it to work on time the next morning; sitting out in the cold (or in the hot sun) on the bleachers to watch your child play baseball or soccer or any other outdoor sport just so you can honestly say yes I did see that when they ask. Being mom means that what ever it is no matter what hour in the morning nothing is more important than your childs concern. Being a mother means bitting your tongue when your 14 year-old daughter comes home with green hair or a green haired boyfriend. But most of all, being a mother means having Beautifully Native a slew of other words that are not always talked about like: heartache, humility, pain, stress, loneliness, yearning, learning, anger, confusion. I think it’s the whole package every word both good and bad that embodies the word “Mom” because Mom is so much more than all of it.
