WeezAy: On the Rise

Louise “WeezAy” Doney, from Ft.Belknap,
Montana is lighting up the scene with a mix
of Hip Hop, R&B, and Gospel. She loves Hip
Hop because: “People respond to it. I think
people listen to it more than anything else.
With hip hop you got to listen to the song very
carefully in order to understand what the artist
is saying.” This 23-year old writes her own
music from life experiences and with the Bible
and God as her major sources of inspiration.
She grew up in a family of singers and has
performed live in places like Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. Her first CD debuted
Summer 2006.
RH: What’s your opinion about females in the game
of music?
“I think it’s awesome! Women need to show people that
we are somebody. It would be good to have women
become role models so they can inspire the younger
women.”
RH: What are your plans for the future?
“See where my music takes me and I want to become a
registered nurse so I can help people.”
RH: Do you have any advice for people who want
to become involved in music? “It’s awesome an
awesome opportunity to be an influence. It feels good
to take something not positive and to turn it into something positive.”
Red Honey: How’d you come up with your stage
name and what does it mean?
WeeZay: “I was freestyling in my brother’s studio and
it just came out. It came about because of my name;
back then my family used to call me Weez.”
RH: Tell me about your family life? How do you
balance it with your career?
“I grew up in a awesome home. I was raised to serve
God. I went to church my whole life. I was raised to
be Christian and to live by the ways of the Bible. I was
