spotlight is
on The Derelict, a.k.a. Asharri the
Vagabond. This rap
artist is Lakota/Black
(his mother is from
InSilence

If you like heavy
metal I urge you to
check out In Silence,
the hard-rocking
heavy metal band. I
caught their show at
the Whiskey-A-GoGo and they rocked
the cocktail lounge on
Hollywood’s famous
Sunset Boulevard.
The small lounge was
semi-filled with concert goers, but everyone was singing and
headbanging to the
awesome music.

City, SD. Rapping and
beat-making since
1992, he’s formed and
been part of several underground rap groups
including: Underground
Elements, Guerrilla
Platoon, and the newly
formed, Splinter Cell.
He’s also works with
Maniac the Siouxpernatural from Night
Shield Entertainment
and Master of Self (also
from Guerilla Platoon)
He raps under two
personas: The Derelict
representing basic rap
Bill, another show
attendee who normally listens to Classic Rock liked how
some of
the songs
started at
a slow,
softer pace
and then
quickened
to a high
energy
peak.
He also
thought the guitar
playing was outstanding. One was particularly exceptional
(Toby Hatmaker),
whose performance
Native Music
and Asharri the Vagabond. The latter is
more political Hip Hop
in which he speaks out
for Natives by tackling
topics like imprisonment (Leonard Peltier),
violence, and alcoholism. These two personas allow him to make
his music two different
ways and focus his
creativity on different
subjects.
